I graduated from Palmer College, Davenport, IA in 1986 and went off to Australia to study S.O.T. which is a very gentle and effective type of chiropractic that includes cranial work. After having my own very busy practice for 3 years I returned to my hometown of Racine and opened a practice at the Elmwood Plaza almost 20 years ago. I enjoy helping people to feel better and am interested in nutrition as it affects our health, which includes food sensitivity information (gluten and dairy). We have a small family practice, my mother Jutta and niece Samantha, have worked with me from the start and I am really enjoying the addition of Dr. Katy to our practice and the time it affords me to take long walks on the Chiwaukee Prairie and cook and eat with my husband, Chris.
Dr. Katy M. Peterson
I grew up in Racine, Wisconsin, and graduated from The Prairie School. I became interested in chiropractic after a car accident in high school, which left me with whiplash and unable to play soccer. Within a few visits to a local chiropractor, I was amazed at my body's ability to heal itself and was able to return to soccer. After learning more about the profession, I became fascinated by the the natural and drug-free approach to healthcare which focuses on the nervous system.
I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison with an emphasis on biology, zoology and African Studies. After graduation, I continued my education and obtained my Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, the Fountain Head of Chiropractic. While there I had the oppurtunity to travel to Brazil on Clinic Abroad and provide care to hundreds of people who would not normally have access to chiropractic care.
Family is very important to me, so I was thrilled to come back to serve my home town after graduation. I love spending time outdoors with my husband, Chris, who is also a chiropractor and our two dogs, Farley and LuLu. You can also find me on the ski hill or on water, depending on the season. I look forward to serving you and my community through chiropractic care.
